It's officially here!!! The cherry blossoms have all opened and the air smells so crisp and fresh. Yummy :) On the most perfect days, with a little breeze, for a moment, it appears to be snowing... but nope, its the cherry blossom petals falling from the trees :)

It's SPRING! When the peacocks are showing off how amazingly beautiful they are, you know its Spring here in our Capital City... Very soon, all the swollen buds will be bursting open reveiling to us their stamens, septals & petals and the pollen in the air attracts the bumbling bees.... I love Spring :)

Here's Atti our little woodsprite at 7 months. Our first outdoor mini session with him :) We were just starting to get into our nice weather of Spring, (I should say not so cold weather, but always wet!), so here was our chance to get outside and take advantage of the great outdoors after a whole winter of indoor shooting... Check out this kids amazing eyes! They are absolutely magikal! Its no wonder he's got everyone he meets, wrapped around his little finger. Your in trouble mom & dad! lol.

Baby Adam was THE MOST TINY Baby I had ever seen. He weighed just over 5lbs when I got to have a snuggle with him at 3 weeks and he was such a charmer! Adam was no bigger than a cabbage patch doll I have, but completely healthy and happy :) I loved how tiny he was, I think because my little ham was nearly 9lbs at birth, I never got a chance to see him this little.. C'mon ladies, doesn't he get your womb aching?? lol. Even on our way out, my little Kingpin said "He is the teensiest baby ever!"

Finally! Onto 2010 posts :) This is what a typical January day in Victoria looks like... Gorgeous! Need I say more? Beautiful views of Mt. Baker from Island view beach, beachfires & weiney roasts, and beach combing! Ahhh.. this is the life :)

By popular request, I decided to set up a Wonderland studio in my living room last season... I must say it was quite a success, alot of fun & alot of work, but worth it in the end :) I loved seeing all the little ones dressed in their best with moms hopes of 'great smiles' ! I didn't post every session, as there were far too many, but to all of you who made it out, I Thank you for your support and hope you all had a wonderful holiday...

The 1st annual African Event hosted by Kathleen Shandley, former PMA rep and hostess & creator of the Grand Marnier dessert challenge. Kathleen and I have been working together for, oh-boy, almost 10 years on these events, and every year they are more of a success than the last. All proceeds go to the Victoria Eldercare foundation, which is a great cause, so you really can't go wrong with a night of gluteny and indulgence, tasting over a dozen local chefs delicious creations pairing them with African wines :) Previous years with the Grand Marnier challenge, the chefs would create only a sweet dish. This was the first year, the chefs got to choose between a savory or sweet creation... or better yet, why not both!

Best job ever!!!

So, these were the days of getting my little 'model' to do as I wish. When he was littler (like here), he was happy to 'play' photoshoot with mama.. These days I ask him to look at the camera and i get a 'deer in headlights' look or his 'funny' face :) Although, I must say, Iam loving every stage of watching him grow up!

It was nice to finally meet Asher (the handsome little lad). He is the son of one of my oldest childhood friends. (Ashers dad lived down the road from us growing up :) We set out to do a family photoshoot that day and what a cute little family they are! It was a beautiful, bright, sunny October day with some great subjects to shoot! What more could you ask for? Had fun guys, hope to see you all again soon :)

This was one of the last photos I shot that day. I love it :)

Halloween 2009. Here he is.. my little tree frog in all his glory :) At this same time the movie, "Where the wild things are" had just come out to theatre and in the distance, he reminded me a bit of 'Max' from the book (One of our faves thanx to Auntie Tree). Posting these a year later, my, has he ever grown... my little babyface is turning into a big boy right before my eyes :( Iam so greatful I have about a million and one photographs of his ever changing face to date... serioulsy!

Another post from the past... We had been awaiting this little mans arrival since the day we found out mama was expecting... and here he is! A whopping 8lbs 13oz full of squishy cuteness :) Again, these should have been up over a year ago, but as i like to say, better late than never...

We celebrated his 1st birthday back in September. Little 'A' you are one of the most fabulous little squirts to have come into my life. xo

Okay, so here is baby 'J' as teensy as ever! He surprised his mama almost a month early but was still a very happy & healthy boy! This post is a little late, as baby 'J' is not quite a baby anymore... he will be 1 in August and adorable as ever :) Its true what my grandma use to say, "kids grow way too quickly.."

Another post from the past :) This day we decided to go for a walk down to the park turned out to be one of the most magikal days I had seen in a while.. The fog slowly rolled in, right as we got there and we heard the fog horns coming off the water. As the busy hot Summer was coming close to an end, this was a perfect day to start us off into the beginning Fall. Normally I refused to believe that our favorite season was about to leave us for another year, on a day like this... I had excepted it with open arms :)

A very good friend of mine had her gorgeous baby boy just in time for Christmas... What a perfect gift! This little guy is going to be a heartbreaker. Watch out lil' girlies:)

He was 5 weeks old by the time all the holidays mayhem was finally over and it was time to celebrate the arrival of his cuteness :)

Lifestyle : My Mallard Tamer!

We had such a mild winter here on the coast, that we have been enjoying outdoor activities all season. I took the little man to Beacon Hill Park to go feed the ducks and see the new males in all their colorful glory at the beginning of January. Not even thinking about it, i grabbed his fave touque and headed out.... only to discover, he matched the mallards!!! It seemed as though noone had been to the park to feed them in a while. There was even a few times my little guy said to me "mama, theres too much ducks!" Despite it all, he loved every minute of it!

WOW! I cannot believe it has been a year since I've last updated! I apologize to my readers, time somehow slipped by me once again, and my 2 and a half year old keeps me pretty busy :) I'm not even sure where to start posting, I've had some great sessions with some great people the past year, however for me to backtrack to those images would take me another year to finally get up to date. So with that said, I'll start with something fun & personal...

Milestone : Miss. Ava ~ 18 months

I CANNOT believe Miss Ava is already a year and a half old! Where has the time gone??!! I remember when we were awaiting her arrival, dosen't seem like very long ago... Ava and my son, K, have known each other since inutero~ Although it seems to take us adults, months for us to all finally get together, the kids remember each other as if they had seen each other only yesterday! We hadn't seen Ava since her 1st birthday and man has she got tricks... Walking around doing her own thing, she knows exactly what she wants already which is such a wonderful trait! A Go-getter! She is SO smart and articulate with all her words, good job mom & dad, she's amazing and I'm really looking forward to watching her grow and capturing these special times for you! Thank you for letting me be a part of her life :)

On a lighter note: We got together to shoot these on Mother's Day and what a great morning we had:) The light was right, Ava was working it for the camera, this little girl should be put into modelling, seriously. I've posted quite a few images of this session only because she made my job as the photographer easy~ it was hard to NOT get a great shot of her! Hope you enjoy :) (click on any image to enlarge)

Little Cassie reminds me of a Cabbage Patch Doll I once had! She is growing so quickly, I forget how much they change the first 6 months.. She is such a beautiful little lady, and always looks like she's in deep thought. I know she will be a thinker... When little Miss smiles, she has the most impressive dimples just like her beautiful mommy :)

What a super cute Baby "L" is... He is the most loving little boy I have ever met! It is a perfect reflection of his momma & pappa's doing! It took him a few minutes to warm up to the camera, so we got a couple of his 'serious' face, but after that.. it was all "gummy smiles" from there! Such a beautiful soul, he is :)

My little man working the camera at a mere 3 months :) I really miss this stage when he could barely sit up on his own... I'd find the perfect spot to perch him up and he would just sit there... now it seems like he's got 'ants in his pants', can't sit still for a single picture these days. Oh, they grow so fast!
